Toyota crowns the most valuable car brand for the 6th time

Toyota brand value reached $29.987B, increasing 5% from the previous year.

Annual BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands study one more time shows the dominance of Toyota in the auto industry with another crown in 6 years in a row. To be honored by the study, Toyota brand value reached $29.987M which means an increase of 5% from the previous year.

Kantar Millward Brown’s Global BrandZ Director Peter Walshe had his say on the success of Toyota that the biggest sales figures benefit from Europe and the United States which show great interests in Toyota SUVs.

So Toyota has been the most valuable auto brand for 11 times. Plus, the carmaker two times landed in the second place in 2012 and 2010.

This time, Mercedes-Benz reached the second place with a whopping 9-percent increase to boost its value to $25,684b. BMW occupies the next valuable position in the study with its $25.624b brand value (4 percent increase from the year before). Walshe praised the 2nd place overtake of Mercedes is thanks to its brilliant tactics to focus on potential markets like Russia, Brazil, and China while in Europe, they enjoy success with the E-Class.

Top 10 of most valuable auto brands also witnesses the comeback of Volkswagen after the Dieselgate fiasco with the 10th position. Others joining top 10 includes Suzuki (9), Tesla (8), Audi (7), Nissan (6), Honda (5), and Ford (4).

Overall, the study glorifies Google as the most valuable with $302.063b brand value (23 percent more than last year). Apple enjoys the 2-second place thanks to a 28-percent increase with $300.595b. Amazon with $207,584 (+ 49 percent) takes the 3rd place. The following brands AT&T (10), Alibaba Group (9), McDonald’s (8), Visa (7), Facebook (6), Tencent (5), and Microsoft (4) also make their ways to the list.
