2. Lightweight body structure

In terms of the structure, the latest Odyssey uses the "Global Light Truck" chassis of Honda, similar to the Honda Pilot 2017 which was debuted earlier this year. The Honda Odyssey 2018 also owns the "Advanced Compatibility Engineering" (ACE) body structure, which sounds like a new mobile operating system. 

But in fact, ACE incorporates advanced materials, such as high-strength steel, press hardening steel, to reduce passenger injuries in case collision occurs. Torsion strength increased by 44% compared to last year's model, which improve the praiseworthy design made by Honda's technical team.

As for the interior, the new car version possesses many new features. The middle seat in the second row can be folded optionally, which allow 3 or 2 occupants. Two chairs can be switched to the middle or left on both sides. 

The car's design makes it easier to place an infant in a child seat with the second row of seats in outboard positions, which passengers can slide them to make easier access to the third row. Equipped with the all-new CabinWatch rearview camera and CabinTalk PA system, it's more convenient to observe and manage infants or toddlers in the back seats.

While the second seat row of Chrysler Pacifica's Stow & Go brings significant usability and Kia Sedona and Toyota Sienna offer reclined backward the second row, Odyssey technology and configuration options of the second row is notable for children-friendly travel

The Odyssey 2018 offers multiple compartments with a brand new multi-function control center. On the Elite model, the console holds the cell phone tray with wireless charging and all trims are equipped with four cup holders, multiple USB ports. 4. Fun driving experience

Fun driving has been a feature of the Odyssey since the second generation debuted in 1999. Until the current model, the steering wheel is still operating precisely and nimble. Yet the rival cars, such as Chrysler Pacifica, a five-star safety car, is able to do all the same. 

However, the Odyssey is more prominent in terms of the ability to control through corners and transition, as the 4-wheel steering offers both smooth driving and easy handling.

The Honda Odyssey 2018 owns the best powertrains in the segment. The new 3.5-liter V6 produces 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, gained 32 horsepower and 12 lb-ft in comparison with the previous model. 

The new fuel direct injection system incorporates variable valves, cylinder deactivation, and an engine idle start-stop systems (on the Touring and Elite models) to improve fuel and power economy.

It also features a new 9-speed gearbox on the low-priced Odyssey and a 10-speed automation on the Touring and Elite. The Odyssey 2018 was also the first to be equipped with a digital transmission for the new gearbox. 

In addition, fuel consumption on the Odyssey also improved slightly (12.38 / 8.4 / 10.7 liter / 100km when running on highway/urban/mixed).

5. Multiple versions for customers to choose at many prices

The Honda Odyssey 2018 is available in six models choices with a standard LX (starting at $ 31,930) up to the high-end Odyssey Elite (from $47,610). Between two versions, the EX comes with a leather interior ($ 34,800), EX-L with leather ($ 38,300), EX-L Navi / RES with rear positioning and entertainment ($ 40,300) and Touring trim with lights, LED, CabinWatch, HondaLink, portable transmission and 10-speed automatic transmission (45,450 USD).
