In the market for a stylish and powerful SUV? Mull over the Isuzu MU-X 2018 Philippines whose exterior, interior, performance and price will get you satisfied.
As always, the Isuzu MU-X is one of the hot names in local SUV segment. Indisputably, the MU-X has built up an enviable reputation in the Philippines since its first batch in 2013.
Served as a mid-sized SUV, the MU-X comes with a tough stance in order not to mingle with crowds. On top of that, both its on- and off-road performance are worth of admiration owing to a Terrain Command System on 4x4 variants. Following the facelifted D-Max, Isuzu has decided to refresh the MU-X with refinements covering in- and outside. To have a close look at this seasoned SUV, keep reading our Isuzu MU-X 2018 Philippines review and try not to drool too much while admiring its mesmerizing photos.

There are not too many changes on the Isuzu MU-X exterior but all modifications are cool.
Up front, it gets a new-fashioned bumper that has got more mantles at the lower part. The headlamps are also revised with a view to incorporating DRLs and a light signature. At the center is a refreshed grille which creates more creases. Plus, fog lamps are decked with more chrome detailing.

Gazing at the rear, you can easily find that Isuzu has rearranged the taillights with a proud LED strip. Further, old is a full-sized spare wheel inheriting from the predecessor. Meanwhile, side profile is beautified with a bigger set of 18-inch alloys.

It is obvious that the 2018 Isuzu MU-X interior is now furnished with more soft-touch bits and features better outward visibility. The bi-tone interior decors are more appealing with higher-quality plastics, soft-touch contact points, artificial wood trims as well as modified seats.

Not only satisfying us with a dynamic and aggressive look, the MU-X is also equipped with comfortable seats to give passengers the best rides, including long ones. The 2nd row can sit 3 adults and the 3rd row can house 2 or 3 kids, albeit not very spacious. Aside from providing enough space for the occupants, the Isuzu-MUX interior also boosts a generous trunk for cargo, especially when folding seats at the 3rd-row down when not in use. That said, when needed, this row of seats do not seem to give your passengers enough space. Added to the cons, sometimes you’ll feel not very comfy because of the shortage of telescopic adjustment in steering column.

A massive 8.0” touchscreen draws your attention at the center of the dash
As regards infotainment system, a massive 8.0” touchscreen draws your attention at the center of the dash, which is integrated with text-to-speech navigation and USB link. Like the last gen MU-X, the 2018 model is likewise armed with three 12V outlets, three USB points and ISOFIX anchors.
Speaking of the hardware, it would be big fault for skipping Blue Power Technology engines in the new MU-X and D-Max. The new engines not only meet the Euro IV emissions standard, they also deliver max power, better gas mileage and longevity. Specifically, the Blue Power mills can push out 177 PS, 11 PS more than the last power plants, while still preserving a considerable torque of 380 Nm.

A 7-speed gearbox is offered for both manual and automatic versions. All the trims are given a plastic 65L fuel tank with roll over valve, a standard turbocharger with VGS (Variable Geometry System) together with a new fuel system with common rail direct injection.
We can always complain to the diesel-powered models about its noise and vibration. However, it’s clear-cut that the 2018 Isuzu MU-X is a capable off-roader with a 3.0-liter inline-four turbo diesel engine, a remarkable ground clearance and a RWD system.

The MU-X’s body rides on a ladder frame chassis supported by 4-wheel driving fans. This chassis is regarded as a steel skeleton for a better level of rigidity and torsional strength.
