Is it worth counting the days until the Mitsubishi Strada 2019 comes in the Philippines?

​We’re sure that you have been reading a lot of news about an official launch of the new Mitsubishi Triton 2019 which has been known as the Mitsubishi Strada in the Philippines. The model has been introduced in the Land of Smiles, in Australia but in our shores, still, it hasn’t landed.

And for those who are still confused, the Strada 2019 is not a new-gen model, it is just a facelift for the current unit.

10. Ceiling-mounted Air Circulator​

This is a totally new feature in the 2019 model. The ceiling-mounted Air Circulator is the same as to the ones used on 7-seater MPVs and is used to make the rear part of the cabin cool more quickly but it seems a bit odd in a pickup with a narrow cabin.

9. More advanced 4WD system​

This seems to be the most outstanding upgrade in the 2019 model. The 4WD system is now available with a smart function allowing the motorist to opt the terrain type that the pickup will be taken on and adjusting the driving mode to fit the surface.

There are 4 options for drivers to choose: (a) gravel, (b) mud and snow, (c) sand, and (d) rock. Rock mode can be only operated in 4LLc.

The suspension at the back receives a great update to boost the overall ride handling and comfort. The Strada also comes with a bigger diameter which can assist in absorption and hold more oil.

7. Bigger front brakes and calipers​

The Mitsubishi Strada 2019’s front brakes are also greatly improved in both calipers and brake discs which are now bigger than the current model’s, enhancing the pickup’s heat control and braking performance.

6. Extra convenience features​

The Japanese car manufacturer has given the Strada series of convenience features including the grab handles added on the B-pillar to help occupants enter the rear seating row much easier.

Especially, its smartphone convenience is also upgraded, the compartment is replaced by a smartphone tray while the center console box’s back is also reshaped.

5. New 6-speed Automatic​

The 6-speed automatic transmission is one of the most noticeable changes in the Strada 2019. Meanwhile, the on-going model is armed with a five-speed automatic gearbox.

4. Automatic High Beam​

Although the Mitsubishi Strada 2019’s front fascia was designed based on the Xpander, its headlamps are located on the conventional spot with DRLs, instead of being mounted on the bumper like the Xpander. Meanwhile, the turn signals and the fog lamps are placed on the bumper.

Besides, the Strada is also armed with an Automatic High Beam which uses sensors to recognize an upcoming vehicle at night, then automatically dip the high beams to not dazzle the other motorist. It does the same as you come up behind another vehicle.

3. Multi Around Monitor​

The Mitsubishi Strada is equipped with an all-new feature dubbed the Multi Around Monitor which generates a virtual bird's eye view of the ground around the pickup on the screen connected with cameras on the front bumper, the tailgate and the side mirrors.

The feature’s name seems to be strange but its function is almost similar to a Nissan system named the Around View Monitor which is also provided by Clarion.

2. State-of-the-art Safety Features​

Safety is one of the most prioritized things Mitsubishi Philippines focuses on when producing its cars. That is why the all-new Strada comes equipped with a lengthy list of advanced safety features including Hill Descent Control, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist and Blind Spot Warning.

Besides the aforementioned features, the pickup is also armed with sudden unintended acceleration (SUA), plus Ultrasonic Mis-acceleration Mitigation System and Forward Collision Mitigation for the higher-level versions, ensuring safety for the motorist.

Besides standard colors, the Mitsubishi Strada 2019 will be offered 3 more special cues including Passion Orange, Graphite Gray and White Diamond which is the most outstanding color in the collection and is predicted to be used to promote the model.
